Custom Applicator/General Laborer- Location: Doon, Ia

Classification: Full-time
Reports to: Location Manager
Description: Apply agricultural chemicals, fertilizers and/or anhydrous to fields in a safe and timely manner..

Duties and Responsiblites:

  • Operate row crop sprayer, dry and liquid floatation equipment, and custom application of anhydrous ammonia
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to equipment
  • Understand variable rate controllers and GPS equipment
  • Accurate application to fields with or without special instructions
  • Accurate and timely record keeping of applications
  • Work around and handle crop protection products and crop nutrients
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations as required by DOT, OSHA, and FEC safety programs

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education experience
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement (or be able to obtain within 30 days)
  • Commercial Applicator license with 1A, 1B and 1C endorsement (or be able to obtain within 30 days)
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance

Agronomy Inventory Control- Location: Doon, Ia

Classification: Full-time- Operational
Reports to: Seed Manager
Description: To enhance, provide and promote products within the agronomy department.

Major Duties and Responsiblites:

  • Coordinate seed shipments, transfers, and deliveries to all locations while working with the seed warehouse manager
  • Manage seed inventory, program payments, and net sales
  • Perform spring seed treatment operations and invoicing
  • Perform and enter monthly location inventory
  • Maintain and monitor G.P.O.S.
  • Monitor and manage Tru-bulk equipment for service and maintenance
  • Coordinate and manage all seed returns and inventory levels
  • Actively involved with seed pricing
  • Accurately make inventory adjustments in Ag Trax
  • Administer duties through Agrimine for company staff
  • Submit seed and chemical rebates to manufactures
  • Dispatch and manage aerial application and inventory
  • Maintain current customer contact
  • Manage drop box seed worksheets
  • Attend grower, test plot, answer plot and agronomy meetings
  • Assist in other duties in-season as needed
  • Maintain all required certifications and accurate record keeping required by DOT, OSHA and FEC company safety programs

Basic Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Detail oriented to provide accurate and consistent work with or without direction
  • Fluent with seed billing processes
  • Class B CDL license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or must be able to obtain within 30 days)
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance

Internships - Multiple Opportunities and Locations

Operational Internship
Description: Operation interns are involved in the day to day operational side of the cooperative business. This will include handling seed, fertilizer, crop nutrients, crop protection and other related products. This individual will also be exposed to crop scouting and working with producers.

Scouting Internship
Description: The scouting intern will work closely with the agronomist and sales team. They will establish and implement demonstrations performed at test plots with key farmers, learn the fundamentals of crop scouting and providing agronomic programs to maximize the producers yield potential and economic return.

Sales and Marketing Internship
Description: The Sales and Marketing intern will be heavily involved with our agronomists and marketer. These duties include: help coordinate activities and tasks associated with the marketer, gathering competitive information and communicate market trends and future needs, promotion of our partnered brands and products along with crop scouting and sales calls with our local agronomists.

Feed Sakes Internship
Description: The feed intern will receive practical hands-on experience in all phases of cattle and hog production systems. These duties include: developing skills on customer site visits, prospect calling as well as cold calling and walking feedlots and hog barns. They will also receive the opportunity to accompany service representatives at the annual Beef VIP Meeting in St. Louis, Cow-Calf meeting and County Fairs. The interns will work with and receive guidance from respected professionals in the industry, and grow in a professional environment.
