Agronomy Sales

Description: Sales and Service of all agronomy products.
 
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for individual sales of fertilizer, seed, chemicals and technology
  • Plan and coordinate all seed, crop nutrients and crop protection products in an effort to grow sales
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to maintain and grow the business (current and prospective customers)
  • Develop and implement a technology growth program with customers base
  • Service a customer base doing farm plans, providing information and recommending crop protection
  • Must have a strong  focus on customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with location and department managers
  • Attend various required meetings and planning events
  • Maintain an accurate sales records for customer base
  • Assist in other duties as needed
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic knowledge of Yield Monitors, VR Controllers and Planter Monitors
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft office and other agronomic programs)
  • Strong agronomic knowledge of CPP, CN and Seed Genetics

Feed Mill Assistant/Truck Driver

Description: Performs all aspects of feed production and deliver bulk feed to customers in a safe, detailed and timely manner.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides assistance backing up the feed mill manager
  • Assist in HACCP compliance activities
  • Measure, process bulk and bag feed
  • Measure and track feed ingredients in bulk bins
  • Load feed trucks for delivery
  • Maintain bulk and bag feed inventories
  • Help keep feed mill clean and free from excess dust accumulation
  • Assist with delivering fertilizer
  • Preform basic grain handling; loading and unloading
  • Deliver bulk feed per customer orders
  • Learns and understands the customer’s livestock operation well enough to avoid errors when making deliveries
  • Complete and maintain driving and delivery records
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations as required by DOT, OSHA,HACCP and  FEC company safety programs

Basic Qualifications:

Office & Customer Service

Description: To work in a front line position dealing directly with customers and in a team setting servicing customers in feed, grain, and agronomy along with assisting the office and outside staff with a variety of day to day operations. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Answer phone and direct calls
  • Provide counter sales and customer service
  • Communicate and enter feed orders
  • Perform billing of FEC products
  • Perform truck scale, grain probing, and grading procedures
  • Participate with office team to organize and implement daily processes to provide products and services to our customers

Cooperative Farmers Elevator
Position Description & Accountability

JOB TITLE: Credit Manager
REPORTS TO: CFO
DEPARTMENT: Admin
CLASSIFICATION:  Full time
LOCATION: Rock Valley 

 
Position Objective
To ensure that credit policies of the cooperative are adhered to; credit goals are achieved; and accurate business records and sound bookkeeping procedures are maintained; and oversee producer finance programs.
 
Position Responsibilities
The credit manager’s responsibilities involve credit application processing, working with Board of Directors, CEO and CFO to define Cooperative Farmers Elevator Credit Policy, check acceptance procedures, debt collection, reporting and any other duties as assigned by the CFO.  Work with CFO to develop producer finance programs to enhance marketing efforts of the company.
 
Credit Applications
The credit manager will process all credit applications.
  • Work with the CFO to develop a system to process credit applications
  • Establish good public relations with lending officers of all banks, FSA's, Farm Credit Services in the trade area
  • Have all new accounts fill out a credit application
  • Review information on applications
  • Check applicants’ references and check credit rating with the credit bureau
  • Approve or reject credit applications
  • Establish credit limits
  • Explain credit policy thoroughly to new credit customers
  • Maintain up-to-date and complete credit files; back all accounts with a credit application
Credit Policy
The credit manager will enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy.
  • Make credit terms known to all employees and customers
  • Enforce credit collection procedures as outlined by the Board of Directors, CEO and CFO
  • Do not charge to customers on COD
  • Do not extend credit to customers who have not been approved
  • Do not authorize customer charges that exceed set credit limits
  • Keep all personal accounts current
  • Attend all credit meetings
Check Acceptance Policy
The credit manager will develop and enforce a check acceptance procedure
  • Work with the CFO to develop a check acceptance procedure
  • Contact the district attorney to learn what information must be on checks
  • Train employees on the check acceptance procedure
Debt Collection
The credit manager will actively work to recover debts owed to the cooperative.
  • Review accounts receivable daily
  • Actively contact and work with customers that are out of compliance with CFE’s set credit policy thru various means of collections. (IE. Personal visits, phone calls, collection letters, small claims filing
  • Pursue collection of accounts previously written off
Financing and Marketing
Develop Producer Financing Programs
  • Work with CFO to explore options to be used for producer input financing
  • Train company sales and management staff on producer financing options
  • Collect information necessary from producers for financing programs
  • Be CFE’s liaison with Cooperative Credit and other finance companies
Safety and Compliance
Uphold department Safety & Compliance policies
  • Uphold all cooperative policies
  • Employee Right to Know meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Favorable feedback is received from all department VP’s and/or managers when assigned to perform or assist with other duties and responsibilities in those departments.

Basic Qualifications
